Impact sockets engineered for 797-class haul trucks and SAGD infrastructure. Cold-chamber tested to -40°C. When standard tools fail, Impact Forge holds.
The CAT 797 generates forces that destroy ordinary tooling. Impact Forge 1″ drive sockets are precision-machined from Cr-Mo alloy steel — the same grade used in aerospace — and heat-treated to withstand punishing shock loads. At 6,000 ft-lbs, there is no margin for cheap steel.

Every detail engineered for the environment that breaks everything else. Four core properties that set Impact Forge apart from off-the-shelf impact tooling.
Deep-engraved size markings resist bitumen, grease, and mud. Read your socket in a blizzard, in the dark, with gloves on. The mark survives the environment.
Chrome-molybdenum alloy steel rated for continuous impact. Not chrome vanadium. Not “heavy duty.” Full impact-grade, heat-treated in-spec. Full stop.
Engineered wall geometry prevents cracking under asymmetric load — the most common failure mode when sockets walk on corroded fasteners under torque.
Sizes from 1-1/16″ to 3-1/2″. SAGD valves, pump flanges, structural bolts, and all 797-class wheel positions. One supplier, zero gaps.
Theme 03 — The -40° Standard
At -40°C, the Athabasca basin doesn’t ask if your tools are rated for it. Brittle steel fractures. Marked sockets become blank cylinders. Impact Forge tools are cold-chamber tested at -40°C — not estimated, not approximated — so when the pre-shift starts before sunrise, your socket holds.
Theme 04 — Precision in the Trenches
Every fastener failure starts at the socket wall. Thin walls round. Sloppy tolerances walk. Our macro inspection process confirms wall thickness, hex geometry, and drive engagement on every single unit — not batch samples — before it ships.
Production ReadyThe Impact Forge Difference
Cr-Mo alloy, through-hardened to resist shock load and cold-temperature brittleness. When a socket fails on a 797 wheel at -35°C at 3 AM, it’s not a tool replacement — it’s a safety incident. We eliminate that variable before the unit ships.
Deep laser-etched size markings survive months of bitumen, hydraulic fluid, and grit. Phosphate-oil finish slows corrosion in wet SAGD environments where condensation is a constant.
Machined hex geometry for maximum wall-to-fastener contact under 6,000+ ft-lb torque. No rounding. No slipping. Built for the exact fastener profiles on 797-class trucks and SAGD pump infrastructure.
